Default 1984 Sunroof

First post...yeeha.

So I bought a new sunroof 1 piece seal from Only944. Looks the business but makes the roof very tight. Trying to latch the sunroof in place with the new seal accidentally got one side to engage the rear lifting mechanism but the other side isn't engaged. Problem, I cannot now disengage the engaged side to try again. At fully down, the engaged side is down the unengaged side cocked upwards because it is still resting on the pin. At full lift one side is engaged to the rear lift the other is not.

The solution is: Unlock the front latches and you can skew the roof to detach from the engaged side. Seal is very tight though and creating a bow at the back. If I sit on the sunroof it will seat all the way but when I get off it pops back up. Oh well. Might sit it out in the sun and see if it improves.

I just put the exact same seal on mine, fit tight for a few days, but works perfect now,
It should be good after sitting under compression for a while.

BTW, make sure its fully seated on the sunroof, mine needed a roller to get it to fully sit on the "lip" of the sunroof.
