Windshield wipers will not return to the down position when turned off. All other positions seem to work ok. Windshield wipers stop in the middle of the windshield. Is there a simple test that would help me diagnose the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Start with the relay in the engine compartment. Clarks Garage may have a reference in the shop manual. Next is to disassemble the wiper motor and clean the internals. That should do it.
