When your right your right.... Tabs are too narrow..... Won't work..... Now to battle on fleabay...... This should be fun! Well he did say it was for an early 944..... So it wasn't my screw up...... For a change!

Hey V2,
Another dumb question.... And you seem to be in the know about the mysteries of 944 A/C! Will a late compressor work in an early car? if not why not?
Are Hose couplings different?

Not directly.
The mounting is slightly different, the hose ends are entirely different, and the late style compressor has a 6-rib pulley vs the early car 5 rib.
You'd have to change the crank pulley, alternator pulley, AC/alt mount bracket and the AC hose ends to use the later compressor in an early car.
