Ignition tumbler came out of the dash.
Pulled my 87 944 into a parking spot after a 5 mile drive, went to turn the key off and it seemed stuck in place. Pulled back on the key and the whole tumbler poped out of the dash with the car still running.
Drove it home like that and had to pull the battery cable to shut it off.

interesting. i need to pull mine out because the return spring is going bad so it won't pop back all the way. this unfortunately causes the speedo not to work or the headlights until i turn it back like a mm or so.

Hah! Funny, I had the opposite problem getting the tumbler out of my 84... Did you know that you have to literally take a drill to an unmarked portion of the housing around the cylinder?
