OPRV questions
My car has the new style valve. I have installed a new o-ring and cleaned it. It compress as you push down on it. All seems well. The first few threads on the OPRV are gone. It seems to need a lot of pressure to push in in past the worn down initial threads in order to start threading into the bore. Is this okay? It slides in easily up to the point of needing pressure in order to thread in.
Thanks

I actually just did this yesterday. You need the OPRV alignment tool. remove the Allen nuts with holding the heat shield to the oil cooler. Loosen the four bolts (13mm). Holding the oil cooler to the block. You should be able to hand tighten the alignment tool all the way down. Once that is done tight the four bolts for the oil cooler. Then you should be able to hand tighten the OPRV all the way down with just a final torque to make sure it doesn't leak. If there is any resistance, it's a gamble if your OPRV will work causing bigger issues. Tools $58 bucks.
