Default megasquirt 3.0 s2 coil on plug ?

Anyone done it yet? I'm curious what coils you used and if you used the 60-2 Flywheel trigger or a front 36-1 wheel.

Thanks
Pete

I'm working on it but I have a long way to go before it is finished. I have the 2.0 VAG coils and I plan to use the 60-2 flywheel trigger.

The vw 2.0 cop fit nice? I am just trying to save me from buying a few off eBay to test fit.

Thanks
Pete

I am not thrilled with how they fit. With the contours of the cam cover and the length/height of the coils, there is no perfect way to make them fit.

I haven't decided which direction I want them to go yet but this is one idea.

does not look too bad of a fit... but could be a little better. would you happen to have the pin-out of those coils?

I believe this is correct. I will be doing some testing to be 100% sure.

What's the advantage of coil on plug over a traditional coil?

I am going with sequential ignition so each coil is independent and I have more control over the dwell time.

That's what I did, works great, one word of caution, the power line for original coil is a resistance line, has 1k ohm built into it. Just FYI, caused me some problems.

Thanks for the info. Where is the resistor located on that line?

My solution, re. the fit is to use large rubber tap washers to make them fit snug, so no debris can get down there, I've ordered some large o rings to give them a go as well
The rail is now painted black (looks more Porsche to me)
