Default 944 S2 280 bhp upgrade

Hi, I don't know if this will be of interest to you all, but I'll post it anyway.
I have just built this engine for a customer for a race series where he has to
run the standard inlet plenium. I've done a few internal changes, pistons, rods, camshafts, inlet valves, head porting and compression ratio.

We have had it on the dyno today and these are the results.

Cheers Tim

Very cool!

Can you share some specifics about the intake valves and pistons?
Does the car have a special tune? Does it run a MAF or AMF set up?

Thanks!

Hi, We are running a 968 inlet valve. The engine is going in a 944 racecar. We are not running MAF and the its map on an Omex stand alone ECU

Nice, Tim!
What was going on with the oil pressure?
Cheers,
Mike

I am presuming you have raised the compression ratio. What is it up to now?

Turbotim3,

Could you list the changes you have made to this engine?

It's quite impressive that you have been able to get both the horsepower and especially torque to the levels on your dyno sheet and it would be great if you could share what you have done.

Yes does look a little dodgy, but its a little up and down because we have a restrictor between the engine and the dyno. This means it take time for it to rise on screen. We do have a big gauge which hangs above the engine which is in direct sight.

The cams have been re-profiled to a solid lifter set up, to give more lift and duration.

Compression is up over 12to 1

We have built this for a customer and we are building and developing engines for our living. All this development costs money, so giving a list of changes and parts would be giving engine builds for free.

Cheers Tim
