Unhappy A couple of things i want to find out......!!!

I forgot to ask about this before but i just remembered. My car is 1988 944 2.5 with 90,000 miles. Everything works perfect but I've been trying to get rid of a shaking stage that it has everytime I stop in a traffic light or pretty much everywhere. If i'm moving it doesn't do it at all. If i'm like at 1500 rpm's it doesn't do it. But if i take the foot off the pedal and i just let it iddle by itself you can feel a shaking .... That is if i'm inside the car , 'cause you can't really see the shaking.

What comes to my mind is that the motor mounts are old and ready to be changed but i want some advice about it before i jump into doing the work.

I thought it was the Iddle and i had it checked ... I got better but it wasn't the problem.

What do you think ?? Has anybody experience this before ????

-------------------------------------------------

And also before I go...... My left door handle broke. You know that door handles have a little stick that you pull to make the door open after you open the lock with the key..... That's what broke..... I have been going crazy over this...
I dont know if i have to get new door handles for both sides or just one and put the same cylinder in...... New they are about 180$ each, so i'm trying to find another way to fix them. What should i do ????

I would say that motor mounts ARE a pretty good guess.
I put another motor in my car (high water incident-don't ask) and it's mounts were shot. Vibrated like crazy until about 1500 or 2000 rpm, then was as smooth as glass. Replaced, and it felt like new again.
I did the job myself, and the only issue I had doing it was getting the motor high enough off the mounts to install the new ones.

Good luck! <img src="graemlins/wave.gif" border="0" alt="[byebye]" />

Motor mounts would be my take on the rough idle. As for the door piece...
<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1818716241&r=0&t=0" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1818716241&r=0&t=0</a>
If this is what's broken on yours, then I think I've seen this piece for around $4, but I can't recall where. If I remember I'll let you know.

By the way, that door piece has a Porsche part number...
944 537 261 02 Left Lever Assembly
944 537 262 02 Right Lever Assembly
While I'm sure they will run more than $4, they are probably a whole lot less than new - or used - door handle assemblies.
