944 N/A gear knuckle...What is it?
Hello everyone, just bought a nice 85(early dash) pastel beige 944,78k miles,1 owner from new, complete Porsche (Dick Lovetts UK) history up to August 2000.Just a couple of questions ,at last service work needing done was "Right engine mount worn"
"Gear knuckle worn".
I know the gear knuckle has been replaced already at approx 30k,but im not sure which part they are referring to,is it the linkgage at the gearbox side or at the shift end?
Also power steering reservior seems to overflow on cold engine startup with a little groaning and (foaming) works fine and quiet after 3-4 minute.Any tips?
Apart from this had the car for two weeks and covered 1400 miles,-5.c December mornings in Scotland -starts first turn, every time.I love this car.
Anyway thanks in advance, anyone who can help.

There is a 'knuckle' type joint at the rear of the linkage which sits above the transmission casing (you can see it from the lh rear wheel arch). This I would guess is the one that has probably been replaced.
