Question 944 valves

Well i purchased an 84 944 and all tha seems to be wrong with it is that it threw a timing belt and bent some valves. Does anyone one of a cheaper source to get valvetrain parts than the dealer? They want over $100 a valve. I just want to get the car running again. Thanks again.

Shop the Rennlist sponsors.

Get a copy of Panorama or Excellence magazine, there are quite a few advertisers in them.

Try different dealers.

$100/valve seems absurd unless there is free installation. $20 intake/$40 exhaust seems more like it.

You might want to try Garrity Repta in St. Louis. He's relocating to 9833 Manchester Rd. here in St. Louis. Somewhere I saw that he rebuilds heads for around $695. Not sure what all that includes. He has gotten lots of positive comments on the 951 board. His website is: http://members.primary.net/~garrity928/Performance.htm
