Post 968 6 speed box in 944

Anybody know if this can be done please? Friend needs a new box, and 6 speed is not much more $ than std box.

TIA

I think that there is an issue with the speedometer cable, not real sure of the details, but something has to be done to keep the ol' speedo working properly.

This has been asked many times. Search the archives for more info. It will bolt on but you will need a few more parts: Axles I think. You will need 968 ABS to run your speedo.

I'm living/running proof it works. Yeah, Tabor is right (as usual) about the axles needing changed. I personally found the gearing to be to tall for the stock n/a motor, but that's just me. Another problem with the speedo, is that the odometer is dead to. I personally plan on keeping this car forever so that is not a concern, but if you want to sell and stay honest, you'll have a problem, not to mention It's handy to know when you need an oil change. Just my .02 Good luck
