I have been asked about the 1uzfe swap from a few people and realize that it will be done mostly in other parts of the globe, so I'll make basic kits as I've already done. Stateside, I agree power, cost, availability of parts, the LS wins. I'll be supercharging (procharger) my 5.3 LS engine this winter as I've seen the factory 5.3 put out huge #'s. I have also seen a charged 2uzfe 2nd gen Supra blow the doors off an LS3 Cowmaro locally and the guy said it was all factory bottom end. For those that know me I may even mate the 3uz directly to the 951 trans and stick it midship with some ITB's. You'll know it's me when you see them in tha back glass.

Ha!

Wellllll okay. You know I have been driving mine for years & years, and years.... I just never quit. So once your up & running - look me up. I will still be driving it... Like I have been... And I will bring my glasses so I can see your car clearly - but I may have difficulty seeing details as I move pretty quickly and my review mirrors are the only things not modded to suit that.

Yep, almost 40K daily driven miles on the 948 here. I'll be happy with my reliable 500 Hp when it has the P1sc mounted. I just hope the 948 trans doesn't defecate the pinion.

hi all not to good with speeches, but always wanted to put the lexus engine in something different, had alot of 944 s and a few buick/rover v8 versions over the past few years...
so i picked up this 1990 944 s2 for the bargain sum of £650 and then sold the engine for more than the price of the car...
so after a few emails to rob xschop,he kindly agreed to help make an adapter to mount the 1uz v8 to the torque tube...i received the adapter, which i may add is awesome...so to date, engine is out, manual flywheel is on,as is the clutch disc and pressure plate, heres a few pics and will update as project progresses...cheers...

Awesome idea. A really good alternative to the LS swaps without question.

To the "Purists"... some of the best cars in the world have engines from different manufacturers. One of my all time favorite cars is the Lotus Elise/ Exige, and it has a Celica engine in it! Doesn't stop me from loving every second of driving one though...

Awesome stuff. Great work from both xschop and beario. Look forward to more!

While I appreciate well-kept unmodified cars, I also never understood the whole defensive "purist" thing either.....

Take care!

Looking good. I wondered about PS pump clearance. What is the diameter of the pulley?

Also, I wonder if the States (LHD) cars would need much X-member modding at the steering shaft.

Just as with the LS1 swap, while the front is on jack-stands, the entire drivetrain will slop rearwards with that factory rubber TRANS mount. Do you have pics/dimensions of the front engine mount shims?

Also pics of the oil-pan to crossmember clearance. A trans mount in the opposite direction (forward) and a custom pan should negate the firewall cutting although you probably fixed a major issue on the car...firewall flex as many of us LS1 swappers can attest to.
