Whiring sound/idle lash
I'm considering buying a 1988 944 STD Coupe.
This car makes a distinctive whiring sound from under the belt-train housing - and becomes quieter when warmed up.
The idle also swings low (below 900 RPM) after being wound up between traffic lights but always comes back up to spec. The A/C also burdens the engine enough to pull down idle (again below 900)-
shouldn't the fuel injection/ignition systems conpensate for A/C load? Any ideas?
