WTB: rear axles for 1989 944 n/a

$140 is inexpensive... considering New Ones are like $350!
Seems like installing used ones is like putting a broken part on your car and expecting it to be fixed.

I went with new from Vertex after looking at prices of new cv bearings and figuring the cheap rebuilds are probably nowhere the same quality as oe. I think a lot depends on how worn out yours are and what you plan to do with the car. One trick Ilearned was to Remove rear wheels and use a long extension to get to the diff screws from "outside" the car.

The 83-86 are shorter due to the offset. The stub axles on the 83-85.1 at the end also has different splines if you are talking about the complete axle. The CV joints are the same for all years.

The guy who posted this youtube video seems to have an opinion about NAPA axels.
Pelican sells them complete with new CVs for about $250 and Lindsey has racing axels for about $500 each. I'm going with the Pelicans in the next week or so. Seems like a waste to replace just the CV when you can order everything complete. But thats just me.
