Default Best LR Exhaust Combination

I'm thinking of purchasing a 3" LR exhaust system and headers for my 83' and I don't know the best combination. I was thinking of bypassing everything, but then I heard no cat takes away low end torque. Is a combo of a muffler bypass and performance cat good? Somebody help!!!! Thank you to those who reply.

I have an '86 N/A. I run a 3" exhaust from MSDS headers, high flow cat with a Maxflow muffler. Havn't really noticed any low end loss. It runs great...a bit loud when you get on it though. At cruising speed it's not to bad.

I have MSDS headers and a LR 3" exhaust with a high-flow cat and a magnaflow muffler. It's definitely louder than the factory exahust, but I like the sound so far (I've only had it for about a week). I haven't heard any other combinations in person, so I can't really compare it other than to say that it sounds mean and the car runs really well with it

Do you notice any gain in power?
