Fuel Level Sender...
I've decided to replace all the gauges in the car with a new set. The gauge I want is set at 10 Ohms Full to 73 Ohms Empty. Now with my 85.5, I know that the resistance is supposed to be 2.8 Ohms Full to 63.2 Ohms Reserve.
I figure using a 9 Ohm resistor will get me the most accurate reading between 1/4 and 3/4 tank. But, I need to know what rating resistor to use. I'm guessing I need to know the current of the output signal and make sure that the resistor is rated for more than that current? Does anyone know the current for the fuel sender? If someone could take a quick measurement, or advise me where to go from here, I'd greatly appreciate it.
