Default 1986 944 Grinding

I just bought a 1986 944 from some guy the other day and apparently there is a radiator problem. He said that its a radiator fan bearing problem. But ive been looking around and it says the fan is electrical... It makes a rubbing/grinding/screeching sound, kind of like a worn belt would make. I really want to get her fixed because otherwise from that she runs BEAUTIFULLY!! Please help, I really dont know what to do.

is the sound there from start up cold ? or only when the engine is hot ? sounds more likely to be the alternator bearing sizing causing the belt to slip on the pulley. Take a look at your alternator pulley and see if it is all shiny from belt slip
