I took the two older boys to RSR IV in 2011 in my old 951. The boys and I will be taking the Cab up to RSR V in September.
They won't fit in it when RSR VI comes up in another 4 years. It will be time for a Cayenne, Macan, or Panamera.

I have about another year or two before my middle son is too big for the back seat.
Macan Turbo's should have dropped a lot in price by then.

Yeah, see how you are, it's summer, get your butt in the garage and do something!

Just don't do what I do. Break things!

I started installing my only944 shifter and I broke the plastic bushing the shift lever sits in. They are only a couple bucks but it puts me behind schedule. The replacement won't be here until Tuesday.

I can't find red bulbs that fit in the rear side marker housings so I am going to try to cover the existing bulbs with red lens repair tape. I'll see hot hot they get and how the tape holds up to the heat before I try to install them. I might go crazy and try to replace them with red LED's.

Well, It has started. The big summer project. I started tearing things down for the Microsquirt install. Intake is out(what a pain that was), Cam cover is off, time to start mapping the new wiring harness.

I may have just made a great deal for the turbo I really want for the car. I'll know tomorrow.

you are pulling the 3.0 and swapping the 951 motor correct? getting married, so it will be a while before i get to any motor work. i may have lost the zeal for going the turbo/supercharged route. may just stick with N/A but move up to massaged 3.2L.

No, I sold the 951 engine. I am going for the unicorn route. 3 liter, 16 valve turbocharged Cab. Very few of those in the world.

I picked up a set of wossner rods from a fellow RLer. I just bought a Garret GT3582R turbo from another RLer about 30 minutes ago. That will go to Forced Performance for their HTA turbo wheel upgrade. GeorgeD is getting positive pressure with his HTA GT3582 at idle. He says it is the fastest spooling turbo he has ever seen the doesn't fall off at high RPM's.

I am building a DIYPNP 55 pin Microsquirt system with a completely custom wiring harness.

Here is a list of the things I plan to get done in the next couple months(or more. The respray and turbo install may take a little longer)

DIYPNP 55 pin Microsquirt ECU.
It will be full sequential fuel and ignition.
1000 cc HiZ smartfire injectors
VW/Audi Coil on plug coils
044 fuel pump
3 bar FPR
MAP only, no MAF/AFM
Custom wiring harness
Custom intake

Koni adjustable front coilover kit
Camber plates
Elephant racing castor blocks
Weltmeister front sway bar
Braided steel brake lines

Euro front bumper cover
968 mirrors
Clear rear marker lenses
(I need to find some clear front turn signal lenses)

89 AOR LSD trans with cooler loop
only944 short shifter, shifter arm, and shift lever

New cam chain and tensioner pads
New powder coated cam cover

Eventually, some body work and a complete bare metal respray.

Cleaned the old oily gunk out of my intake ports.
Cleaned up the front timing cover for powder coating.
Install the factory lower shift lever bushing and finished installing the only944 shift lever.
Removed the factory coil since I won't be using it with the Megasquirt kit.
A few days ago I installed the SRPracing pedals.

hey, i recognize those pedals.

you are definitely going all out. i remember the days of my wish list. so glad to finally close that file. now its just maintenance. hope you catch and tame that unicorn. i think real life caught up with me in terms of turbo engine build. driving my cousins supra showed me that boosting is gas drinking fun, but after the newness wore off and i wasn't running into people to race, i was just cruising around. it made me realize how i really drive my car. as a quick cruiser. i think i get the big speed rush from my sports bike.

still, i'll be a watchin'

The deal on the gt3582 fell through. I am really really bummed out!!!!!!!

I would love to have a sport bike if all the other drivers in Phoenix would agree to stay off the roads when I am on it.
