Here is the rust under the antenna cover. The large opening is for the antenna and two small ones are for the screws to hold on the cover. Either not enough paint was applied or the glass rubbed the paint. Thoughts?

New to the forum, I just bought a ‘90 944 s2 cab. Drove it from FL to CA. Everything about it is amazing. I am actually looking for a few pictures from a 91 s2 944 owners manual regarding the instrument dial warning lights. I am working on getting mine smog-tested, but I need to show there is no check engine light on a 1990. My owners manual does not show a check engine light in the owners manual, but I have heard that the 1991 owners manual has it in there. If someone with a 1991 owners manual could send me a few pics of the front of the book, and the page that references the check engine light, that would be extremely helpful in my quest.

very nice I have the same triple black but mine is a 91. Not sure what you are after with the manual but I’ll snap a couple of pictures. There is a check engine light on some models tiednto the emissions system and there is the ! Light at the top center of the dash indicates that there is another light on. For example when you pull your parking break the parking brake light should come on along with the ! Hope this helps

I have the same pages in my manual as mhr. I have a 91 but you never know what is original. Here is a picture of the first page - I believe this means it is for a 91.

When I turn the key (no engine or computer so do not know how valid this test is) I do not have a check engine light, not that I know what it would look like since there is no picture of it! As far as I know this is an USA car.
If you want to see my car in its present state here is a link to the build

Hints, suggestions and comments always welcome.

Here is one, ahem, possibility- the reasons the main warning light can be on are many, and tracking them to root cause can be death defyingly difficult! They can be as being as the main light is one when the parking brake is engaged, you can adjust this at the switch just on the left side of the drivers seat. Easiest to take away out to do this. But, if you detect no bad conditions in the operating of a 30 year car and suspect it is on because it likes shining it’s pretty red light at you, you can have the dash out and the light unscrewed in less that 20 minutes. Quite simple, and , as they say, a lasting fix. Same goes for any light...

Finally got around to applying "The Last Coat" to my car. In case anyone wants to know what a ceramic coating looks like....

The surface was so reflective that 2 dragonflies kept skimming the hood thinking it was water.

Thanks.

The product name is "The Last Coat". You can buy it on amazon or from www.thelastcoat.com. FYI, I am not promoting the product for any type of personal gain. Just a very satisfied customer.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you find your rear trunk spoiler?

Thanks. I can tell you that the phone pics don't really capture it.

As for the spoiler, I got it a long time ago so I can't remember the vendor at the moment. It's really a tech art part for the 968 cab. If you do a search for 968 cabriolet rear spoiler, it should net you some results.

Default 944 S2 Cab recently purchased.

I’ve started the process of evaluating and taking care of a series of items that need attention. I’ve taken care of a few of the more pressing needed repairs. Struts, motor mounts, plus a variety of small items. The one issue that has surfaced and certainly didn’t expect is a noisy transmission. Other than that the car is quite nice. The main reason for this post was to ask if anyone knows of a remedy for having the large non adjustable steering wheel either extended or if a smaller replacement is available, replaced. The maneuvering of my right leg and knee is an issue and potentially dangerous. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Switched from the 17s. Had the narrow spoke cup 16s refinished and new set of tires for fall/winter.

Cab Owners,
I just purchased a 90' Cab and need a bit of help. The PO really cut every corner you possibly could, including removing the rear truck locking mechanism when the cable broke. I have replaced all the components now and have it back together but, when I turn the key, the motor spins, pulling the cable but does not activate or unlatch the lock. Does anyone have a "how to" on how this system works? I suspect I need to somehow adjust the cable, but I am completely at a loss. I just finished repairing the convertible top bow that had snapped and many of the top components and seals which he used foam household weather stripping to seal the car. I love the car and it kills me how people really take so many short cuts and cheap-out instead of doing it right. It's almost always less expensive to do it right in the beginning then fix it later on. Thanks!
