What have you done to your 944 S2 Cabriolet?

There is some practicality to the script seat as with kids, you'll find it will take some wear no matter what you try to do to prevent it. I don't think it will come off as intentional enhancement but no one will blame you for opting with the script verses a costly, new looking back seat (that you be worrying about).

Can you use the rear seat out of a coupe?
I'll be parting my turbo coupe in the next month or so. I got hit and I am just waiting to finalize everything with the insurance co.
I'm looking at picking up a white 90 cab.
I'll eventually swap the mechanicals out of my turbo into the cab. 350rwhp should be fun in a cab!
I'm also hoping to swap the wheels as well. They are the wheels in my avatar. I'm thinking they will look good on a white cab.
Did the 90 cab have LSD? Standard, or was it an option?

I could since the seat bottoms are the same as the coupes but I think the shipping from Phoenix to Montreal might be a bit costly. Nonetheless let me know when you are parting the car.
There were cabs with LSD but not many from what I understand.
I saw a cab with a Turbo S engine in it this summer. Belongs to a PCA member and renlister from Ottawa. He got a roll bar and harness bar installed and plans to track it a bit. It's VERY nice.

I got the cab.
Picked it up in Fresno yesterday and drove it back. Pulled it at 3:45 this morning.
Here are some pics from the sellers autotrader ad. There is also a pic of my old car with the splitter and the wheels that will be going on the cab.

I plan to swap the turbo motor into the cab at some point.
The coupe was on new Hankook Ventus tires on 996 turbo wheels(8 inch wide fronts and 11 inch wide rears) and the cab is on old Cooper Zeon tires. The fronts are well worn and slightly age cracked. The rears are in decent shape but I do not think Cooper Zeon's are known for their top tier handling.
I believe that the wheel and tire differences between the two cars account for the differences more than differences in the coupe/cab platform.
The wheels and tires on the coupe give it a lot more grip but the width difference front to back also gives it more understeer.
The cab feels much more evenly balanced. Even on old tires, it is predictable and stable at any speed. The aforementioned suburban first introduced itself into my world when it abruptly drifted into my lane while I was negotiating a downhill curve at around 85 mph. Very hard brake application loosened up the rear of the car but it was easy to catch without going into a full blown slide. Good brakes and good, predictable handling kept me from trading paint with the suburban and/or exploring the canyons on the other side of the guard rail.
I will be putting the 996 turbo wheels on the cab so I'm thinking about going with 9 or 10 inch wide fronts if I can find some for a decent price. I'm hoping that will even out the balance issues and give my more neutral handling.
The track picture is just the Parade lap at Rennsport Reunion. I had my two older boys in the car with me, no helmets, and a cooler full of water and food in the back seat.
I do want to do some DE events in the cab. I need to find a good competition quality roll bar that I can bolt into and out of the car.

I saw a cab in Ottawa this summer with a transplanted Turbo S motor and a roll bar and harness bar in it. The roll bar was really nice as it left the rear sear useable. I will look for the link to the maker and post it later.
enjoy!

Tore out the back seat as it had rips in it. Will replace with a nice one I got.
Pulled out the old vertical roof seals and test fit the new ones that I got. I had to spend quite a bit of time taking adhesive off one of the inner seals but all in all they are in very nice condition, miles better then my old ones. I never had inner seals and had really crappy outer ones. Now I have very decent inner and outer
Took out the rear side panels and removed the rear speakers and mounting brackets. Looks like I will go with 5.25 round component speakers in the back. Did a cardboard mock up of the plate I need to make and it looks like it will all fit and look stock. Only non stock looking item will be tweeters that I will install in the holes that are normally for the manual roof crank override. My roof is converted to manual and the little plugs annoy me so why not fill the holes with something useful.
Next with the seat and panels removed I will take to opportunity to vacuum and clean it all up and then start to put it all back together. After that will start to remove the dash and prepare to install the crack free one I will pick up in the next 2 weeks.
Almost getting to the end of the list I made 2.5 years ago when I purchased the car. Probably should start looking for another one

I hardwired in my new Passport 9500ix.

While I had the A-pillar apart, I ran the lines for my boost gauge and wideband O2 sensor gauge.(I'll need these when I swap in the turbo engine)

The 996 turbo wheels fit my 86 turbo(early offset) with spacers. The don't fit the 90 cab. they stick out too far.
Any ideas how to get them to fit? Early control arms?
