I haven't started the install yet but I'll take some pics and let you decide. Sounds like they may be better then what you have. I'll try to get the pics tonight and pm you.

I am planning to respray my car and replace the top. Any pics and information to help when you do it would be much appreciated. I plan to go new on the top and like to know who is a good company to go with.

1933beer, I was able to get a top (frame and all) off a 968 that had rear-end damage. Since its still on the frame it seems like it should be a fairly easy install. I hope. sorry I cant help w/ a company to go with.

Default Manual Top

For those of you who have converted your cab top to manual operation what needs to be done?
When I put my new top on I plan on taking the motors and cables out. What do I need to disconnect on the sides? Thanks for the help!

I can take a picture if you want. I unscrewed and removed the pieces that connects the main bows to the mechanism. Removed a bit of weight but also made the manual action easier. Let me know.

Also let me know when you get a chance to shoot a picture of the seals.

A picture would be great! Thanks. I got the seals off the old top. They are in better shape then I thought. It was adhesive all gooped up were it slides on to the metal rail. Both sides are good. Let me know if you want both passenger and drivers sides. I'm thinking $75.00 for each side. If you dont like them send them back and I'll keep them for spares.

Having trouble posting a photo but I have a 1990 and 1991 S2 cab, both in GR. The 91 is a project car brought back from the grave mostly completed.

Thanks MHR, sports seats are great in turns. There are a lot of nice 944 S2's on this historical email thread...some are truly exceptional. The cleanest one I can remember seeing was this one at a Pittsburgh show on a golf course about 10 years ago. Car belonged to some guy named Dan and I believe he was a detailer/restorer. His S2 was second to none.

Opinions please

My back seat is cracked and somewhat falling apart. The rest of my interior is mint so I want to do something about it. I have small kids so the seat gets used often so a delete is not an option.

A local lister gave me a script back seat bottom in very nice shape. My car is triple black. Any opinions on how it will look to have a script back seat bottom. I think it may turn out to be cool to have a little texture back there but not sure.

Thanks

Mark
