Check the switch in the door jam -- that has been the cause of slow battery drain problem for others in the past (do a search for old threads).

Yes, they can malfunction and cause a drain. Have you used a multimeter to test the drain at the battery with everything off? search the threads here and in the 944 forum for battery drain and you will get the normal readings. I can't remember them off the top.

1> diconnect battery earth
2> Connect a meter (amps)
3> one terminal goes to the disconnected earth lead/ other to the battry neg
4> DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START CAR
5> check the reading, can't remember what they usually are, only about 10-20millioamps
6> then pull one fuse out at a time
7> when the reading goes down a lot, you've found the source of the current drain, look up on the fusebox and see what that circuit looks after
here are a few suspects
1> boot light
2> hood light
3> interior light
4> glovebox light
5> alarm
6> stereo
hope this helps
