What Could I Sell My 944 S2 For?
I have an 89 944 S2 with 39,600 miles on it. Has all maintance done at 39,600 such as timing belt and rollers, water pump, etc. The car has brand new Bridgestone S03's with 17" Turbo Twist Rims. I have Cross-Drilled rotors and steel braided brake lines. I also have the Auto Thority Chip and SFR Cat-Back Exhaust. It also has the premium sound system in it with 10 speakers and graphic EQ.
The car is in absolute mint condition. I have a small tread separation (not a rip) in the passenger seat, but that's all for defects.
I'm just thinking about selling to get something new, but I don't want to give this away.
Suggestions?

Just out of interest. how do you like the Bridgestone S03s on the 17" turbo twist rims? I have a similar setup (1989 s2 with 17" twist rims) and recently replaced my fronts with Yokohama AVS V102s, which are a big improvement on the Dunlop LM701s that were on there before.
I was originally also considering the Bridgestone S02s, because they are what shipped on at least some Boxters delivered here in Australia, but they weren't readily available when I needed the tyres, and I shied away from the S03s because I was told (correctly or not) that they were quite a different tyre to the S02s, and not particularly well-suited as a Porsche tyre. Any opinion on how these perform compared to what you had on before?

I really couldn't tell you about the tires, I only have 300 miles on them and that since the Porsche meet in May. I really don't drive the car at all, in fact most of the time (from Nov till May) it sits in a museum that my buddy owns with about 50 other classic and exotic cars.
The car came with Yokos on it. I just got the S03 because I loved the S02's I had on a couple of other cars and it seemed like a natural progression with some newer technology. I was going to get P-Zeros but they seem to make a little too much wheel noise for my liking. Sorry I can't be of any help.

I paid under 10 for my gray 89 S2 with 54k, 10 speaker option and maybe 500 total in needed body damage.
I got 14k for my 89 with 74k, a new motor, boxster rims with pilot sport tires, yellow konis, 12 way 928 seats, a freshly rebuilt motor, SS lines, K&N, recent clutch and new alpine speakers and stereo to name a few things when it was stolen a year ago. It took a month and a lot of negotiations/threats to get that. PCA valued it at 10k. Mileage doesnt increase the value as much as we think it does. Or put differently, the difference in value/price of a dog and a gem is not nearly as wide as I thought. If I hadnt just spent 5500 on the motor, and 1000 on the shocks and ball joints, that means i got 8k for a mint car with 74k miles on it. you get the idea.
I will mention your car to my brother. he just sold his NA and is looking for something else.

You know, I was thinking about this while at work today, and I began to realize that the $15,000 would be too much in the 968's territory. So, I think I had better revise my original estimate to around $12,500, if you find the right buyer. Personally, if the car is completely mint with all of those tasteful mods, and I were in the hunt right now, I would be willing to plunk down every bit of $12,500. Also, after reading Tom's comments, $12,500 makes much more sense. Good luck!

WOW, nice car. Personally i would not sell that car unless i was putting a GT3, 911 Turbo of some kind, or a 997S in my garage.
I would say it could go for around 14,000 to 18,000 depending on the buyer but from the condition u are describing the car is in tip top shape and will demand top dollar for an S2 which are some what rare in the 1st place.

Not looking to sell it yet, just going trying to get an ideal for resell. The insurance company appraised it at 20K so it seems like the 15 to 20 range is about right. It goes back to the museum in October so then it will sit until April/May.
Thanks for all the advise!

At 15-20 it will probably be in the museum for a long time. 20k is Carrera and Boxster money.
I dont think there is a 7-10k premium for 15k miles. Remember I just bought a slate gray one (a color othar than the very rare red my other one was) with 54k with very minor issues which if i bothered to fix them would give me a concours car for under 10k.

I paid 8600 (not 18600, 8600) for my 90 944s2 cabrio, had some small imperfections. Dash isnt in the greatest shape, seats look great though. I had to replace the convertable top which wasnt very expensive. It has a few scratches here and there, but nothing major at all. I also bought the car from the dealership. It was completely stock as far as i know. I used to have an edition of excellence that has all of this stuff in it. current prices that these cars usually go for and all, if i find it i will post it.
