Default STUFF I NEED, Im a newb please help

ok just bought a 1986 944 for $1,000 with a broken connecting rod... lots of goodies i.e. exhaust, chip, intake, etc... looks real nice too... but the engine is almost completely down to the block to get the connecting rods out... so Im looking for some good connecting rods... also a full gasket kit would be nice for the rebuild.. please help me out. thanks

It's hard to imagine the motor would be OK with just a new rod. I would suggest finding a short block, or even a long block as the head may be damaged from the loose piston.

I would be checking for head damage, you may be in the market for a new head as well, since yours may not be rebuildable.

Other than that, check out the cylinders for scoring, I can't imagine a rod breaking, and not scoring a cylinder.
