1988 944S 150,000miles. Recently after washing under the hood my 944S developed a serious miss, I suspect ignition wires but would like to do a more detailed inspection of the whole ignition system prior to replacing wires that may not need it.
As the car dried out the miss almost dissappeared but not quite, still have a reminder usually at low rpm especially when cold.

Does anyone know of what other moisture prone connnectors/wires that may cause this symptom?

With my experience water can get into the distributor. Take off the cap and check for water in there.
