Question Anyone driven a Mazda6?

Due to the lease on my '02 Ford Exploder being up soon (August) I'm weighing my options for a different vehicle. (daily driver)

I want to purchase, not lease, due to lots of driving for work. I don't need a truck & would like a sporty sedan. My price limit is around $20-$25k. I've been thinking about a used Linc LS, or similar car.

While looking at my options I ran across the Mazda6. While I haven't driven one yet, it looks like a good bang for your buck. 220hp, 5-speed, leather, decked-out & new with a 4-yr 48k warranty for about 25-grand...

Has anyone driven one???

Any thoughts on other rides I should be looking at???

Thanks!

My dad has one of those, with all the options you’ve mentioned. He seems to like it. Just for reference in the past he had a 1992 Taurus SHO and says the Mazda is a far superior car. The steering is a little light IMO, and the transmission seems to be a little rubbery, but it seems to be getting better with age. He’s had it for about a year and he’s put 7-8k miles on it. It’s been back for to the dealership for a recall on something to do with the gas filler line, and some owners are complaining off rust colored substances forming around the inside of the door near the weather striping. We haven’t seen anything like this on ours so were not too concerned about it. Since you thinking about buying a used LS you might want to look at a pervious generation BMW 5 series, I’ve heard that they are excellent cars. Sorry I can’t say more about the way it drives but the only other sedan I’ve driven for any real length of time was a beat to hell dodge neon for drivers ed.

I've driven plenty, I used to sell them. I also could get you a good deal on one from my old dealership (in milwaukee). Very very nice, getting one is not a bad desision.

I drove one but only once. It didn't seem like all 200 ponies were present. Also FWD. They do seem like a good choice in the price range though.

They give out Mazda 6s at the Audi dealership i work at.

They're pretty nice. The 220hp models have plenty of kick to them, even in auto tranny form. I'm sure the 5spd would be more fun. Havnt seen the leather ones, but yeah, the styling is nice on the cars. Its not so normal like your average honda, toyota.

Could you get a 1.8T Jetta for that price? Those are pretty fun.
