Default Power Steering -- Reseal Kit or Rebuilt / New Rack??

Hi Everyone

On my 1990 S2 Cab the steering rack has a small leak. Is the reseal kit a reliable fix or should I put in a new / rebuilt rack (assuming, of course, that old seals are the only problem)??

Your experiences with reseal kits, as well as any other advice on steering-related issues, would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Rehan

Rehansamee,
I resealed my steering rack on my N/A, it hasn't leaked since. If you know what your doing then you shouldn't have a problem with the work. I assume it would be much easier to just replace the rack but I like to do my own work and learn through it.

Progeniter04,
Even though your jacking this thread I'll answer your question. There is no drain plug for the resevoir, there are two hoses that connect on the bottom of the resevoir, just take off one of them and drain the resevoir or take out the lower bolt on the pump where the hose connects. If you drain it from the pump I'd buy a new o-ring/gasket.

I've done this as well and it's very simple, just bleed the system when you refill.
