You need to replace the clutch master and slave cyllinders. i've done it a few times and it's not bad if you have the right tools for the job.
Get new parts. They are not that expensive. Paragon Products has everything you need.
Read this: Clutch cylinder procedure.

Race Car
Without knowing too many specifics here, I would say that the master and slave from an early car will work on a late car. And I am about 90% sure that the alternator will work too.
IMHO, the pain in the **** factor of doing the master/slave makes it worthwhile to use new ones. At least on the master. (I think you were hinting that you were going to install used ones, unless you meant that you have new ones somebody bought for an 83).

You have to pressure bleed it. There is no other easy way to get the air out of the system. The way the line is routed, you will never get all the air out without a pressure bleed.
The alternator will fit, but I wouldn't use it, it's MUCH less powerful (puts out less power) than the 85.5+ alternators.
