1988 944s - Boot (trunk) question
long story short inherited 944s with central locking
no keys but drivers door is open
battery dead (needs replacing)
need to get in the boot (trunk)
got some jiggle keys and managed to turn the lock but it wouldn’t open - is the boot lock electronically assisted so I need the battery hooked up?
any other way I can get in? Boot seems full of junk and has the boot curtain pulled across
cheers

Race Car
If the linkage is intact, do what PaulD said, switch is near hood release IIRC.
Been a while, all my cars are gutted track cars....
If all else fails, crawl in the rear, head first near the internal mechanism, unsnap carpet under deck, grab linkage lever with thumb and forefinger and twist using your head to push deck up.
