Porsche repair in Las Vegas
Good evening everyone. Unfortunately, my 87 944s has just suffered a broken timing belt and after conducting the compression test it is apparent that I have bent some valves. That being said, does anyone have any information on a good machine shop here in Vegas or even a good mechanic to help with the rebuild? Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Good luck with that project! You can save yourself some time and money by pulling the head yourself. Be sure to take plenty of pictures prior to doing this, and place all the parts in plastic baggies WITH labels in the baggies...If some time elapses before you get it back together again, this will be invaluable...ASK me how I know..mine has been apart for 5+ years now...A workshop manual (WSM) is available on CD..for about 20 bucks or so..Hope this helps some..

Thank you for your insight. Unfortunately, part of the reason I was looking to outsource this endeavor is because I just recently had heart surgery so any manual labor has been put on hold for quite some time. However, since you have attempted this process on your own how difficult would you rate it? Im no mechanic guru but I am more advanced than average so im curious as to how you would rate this.

Trophy Performance, without a doubt. First class shop, very honest and reasonable. I bring my 944 S2 Cabriolet, 944 Turbo and 997 to them. They also support the Las Vegas PCA club at Spring Mountain Raceway track days, doing tech inspections, etc. I found them through yelp. They had high marks and I have been very happy with their service. 5 stars from me.
