New owner looking for mechanic around northern il.

i just bought a 1988.5 944s with no receipts or maintenance history from the original owner with 32 k miles. I don’t want to go by just his word so I’d like to find a guy or shop to do the timing ,balance belts and water pump. Does anyone know someone trustworthy? Thanks

Near Chicago, or the other side of the state? One shop I know of is Pinetree Motorsports near Sterling, they do prep for 944spec cars and are certainly capable of doing the work, but you'd have to check to see if they would work on a street car and how busy they are.

Little far but there's a couple shops in Madison.
Lee's Automotive on Watts Road
Kelly Moss Motorsports,
there may be others.

Hi, congrats on getting your 944.
I will recommend BTR in Evanston, if it is not too far for you.

The owner has great experience with them, and drives a 928.
