Front windshield defroster
notice no air to front windshield vents when sliding switch to route heat to wind shield. All vents on dash and floor output heat.
Suggestio to troubleshoot or parts to replace? Car a Euro spec 1984 944. Live i n southern Maryland/northern Virginia area.

The levers on the heater control operate (through bowden cables) flaps which direct the air. It sounds like either a cable is broken or disconnected, or, more likely, one of the plastic brackets for the end of the cable is broken.
You are going to need a new heater box or a willingness to live with what you have.
