Oil pressure light.. again
Hi everyone.. I had this problem a while back but then my clutch went so that took priority! Clutch is now fixed and time to solve the next problem:
my oil pressure light (on gauge) and “!” light come on soon after startup up at idle.. will blank when revs are up (over 2000ish).. come back anytime I’m off the throttle and/or at idle. Also.. when they are illuminated they are always flickering and don’t seem full bright. Pressure on gauge is perfect and reacts exactly how I think it should.. around 2 at idle 4-4.5 while cruising. I replaced the oil pressure sender and issue stayed. In fact.. I disconnected the warning light lead entirely from the sender unit and I still had the issue..
I’m thinking the two wires are shorting and the warning light is getting a signal from the gauge wire? My next step is to pull the binnacle and check the wiring but thought I’d look for insight first!
