the C5 bellhousing will work on an automatic 944 torque tube.

Just buy a C6. I've seen them for under $20k. Cheaper then a LS swap. Oh yeah, you get the 14 inch disk brakes and a transaxle that can actually handle that torque too, at no additional charge ether.

I don't want a c6, I want an LS swapped 944. If I wanted a c6 I would go buy it.

Okay tough guy. I wish you luck with the swap.

not a tough guy, probably can't even bench 100, just don't see the point in telling me to just buy a c6. No need to turn back on a project I've already started

the 944 converter is at the back of the car in the transmission, driven by the back of the driveshaft.

so at the engine end you hook up everything the same as you would on a manual LS swap.
you could use an LS automatic flex plate but i doubt anyone makes a connector for the flex plate to 944 driveshaft.
however you can use a (used but good) LS clutch kit, just without any hydraulics, to connect your engine to the driveshaft.
basically the LS clutch setup is working as a giant adapter between LS crankshaft and 944 driveshaft...permanently engaged.

the 944's torque tube arrangement makes that possible.
