944 Central Locking
1988 Porsche 944 NA
While sitting in the car, I can press the console door lock and both driver and passenger side locks will lock.
While outside of the car, on the passenger side, I can lock and unlock both driver and passenger side locks with the key.
One the driver side of the car, using the key, I can unlock both driver and passenger side doors when both doors are locked.
While on the driver side of the car, with the key, when I attempt to lock the driver and passenger side locks, only the driver side door will lock, and it will lock manually with the key (no actuator or electrical intervention), I can go to the passenger side and turn the door handle lock in either direction (lock or unlock) and get a response from both driver and passenger side door locks (electrical and actuator).
Does anyone have ideas about a fix? Thanks

You will have to remove the driver outer door handle, then remove the very small flat head screw holding the switch to the handle.
HInt: before doing all the work, remove the door card and test the new switch. The switch has three positions: center, lock, and unlock. It will be obvious which is which when you test the switch.
