1983 944 - No start. Fuel pump or ECU/DME?
#16
Drifting
The engine started on 10/19 and 10/21, both days on the first attempt.
My conclusion, the fuel injectors randoming clogged to prevent sufficient fuel flow to start the engine and then the engine had a rich mixture when running. The injector spray pattern was not total atomization but fuel droplets at times producing the rich mixture which fouled the spark plugs in be of the 4.
First, sent the fuel injectors for cleaning and testing and reinstalled. The engine started intermittently but also stalled after running for several minutes. Replaced the plugs and the engine has started on every attempt
#4 is far left, all in sequence, #1-3 fouled, #4 almost fouled
