1984 944 Wont Start
Hello! I'm new here and new to owning a Porsche. I recently purchased a 1984 Porsche 944, automatic model, great exterior condition and started every time since I bought it. Today, I drove it to work, and had to run an errand, the car wouldn't start, wouldn't even make a noise. The battery works bc, the air would blow but no engine noise. Does anyone know why it would just stop working all a sudden?

Check your grounds. Once my negative lead came off of my battery (I had loosened it to do some work), and the car went dead instantly, no response when I tried to start it (no noise / clicks).
You might have a bad ground or a broken ground wire.
Make sure your battery terminal leads are tight - just touching is not enough.

It's still a value to figure-out what the issue was, otherwise you run the risk of "randomly" being stranded in a parking lot somewhere.

It's very possible the automatic transmission neutral safety switch is out of adjustment or bad. Wiggle the shifter back and forth in neutral. Be careful and hold your foot on the brake, It could start in gear!
