Dash cuts out randomly on 944

Looking for some advice on a problem I'm having. The Dash (instrument cluster) on our 85.5 944 intermittently cuts out. Any suggestions on where to start?
On a side note the sunroof is doing the same.

check the black wire coming out of the ignition switch.
