944S2 Cat Delete - Pros/Cons and questions
New 944S2 owner here. Good condition, runs well, fairly recent rebuilt motor with excellent compression. I've read through some threads on this subject, but haven't really gotten a definitive answer.
My state does not require emission inspection on cars 25+ years old. What are the pros and cons of doing a cat delete? Do I need to do anything else to the car if I delete the catalytic converter (timing, sensors, etc).? And, what is recommended regarding straight pipe or resonator, etc.?
The car is otherwise unmodified. PO provided a performance chip and cold air induction kit that have not yet been installed. Hoping to add those, delete the cat and get a bit more performance. Thanks!

Unless it's actually clogged up there are no pros to removing the cat.
cons include the exhaust will stink unbelievably, and if you get near the tail pipe or have any kind of exhaust leak into the cabin you and your clothes will stink like it too.
