Default New 944 Owner - First Porsche

Hello all!

Just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I picked up my first Porsche yesterday, a 1985 944 NA. 131k miles and in great shape. I'm going to finish up the restoration on this one and just enjoy it as a Spring/Summer cruiser and take it out to some shows. Being new to this scene, I'll probably have plenty of dumb questions for y'all...

Most of what I'll be working on this year will be interior pieces, so I'd appreciate advice on sourcing. I've already researched and found some parts sites, but I'm not finding a wide selection anywhere thus far. I know that's to be expected for 30+ year old cars, so it may take some time and ingenuity.

Depends on what you're looking for. If it's seat covers, a good source is https://www.only944.com. He has quite a few other bits as well.

Yes, I had found only944.com, and I'm sure that'll be a good resource. What I'm really looking for right off the bat is a way to recover or replace the steering wheel and perhaps somewhere I can find all the little switch covers. Most on the console are rubbed clean. All work, but they are not readable.

Those aren't switch covers...the rockers are part of the switch assembly. Options...re-paint the symbols yourself, find a set of used [less worn] switches, purchase new [~$50/ea], or use your memory. Your center console can't have more than four switches: mirror select, sunroof operation, rear wiper, and/or central locking.
