Default DIY Lizardskin?

Hey everyone! I am in the process of stripping my interior down to the metal and redoing the sound deadening. Debating about how to go about it, and I came across people doing a homemade lizardskin by mixing outdoor latex paint with microballoons. If it goes well, its like 10-20 bucks a gallon, which would be really cheap and appealing. Going to put the carpet back on top, so it doesn't have to be beautiful.

Anyone out there try this method? any tips and tricks, or a favorite recipe? I'm going to roll it on instead of spray it, as I don't have a compressor or spray gun....

Never heard of this. A picture of your results would certainly be appreciated.

Is there a reason you're considering this route over the traditional deadening material?

I'll take pics when I'm done. Got the idea from some hod rod forums and them saw other posts around the net. If it works, I think I can coat the whole interior with sound deadening for 30-50 bucks. I'll keep you posted.

Right now I need to finish striping the interior though. Gotta get all the glue out....
