Default 3ltr S2 cut out. Ignition issue.

Driving my 944 last week. All normal.
sat at lights and car died.
wouldn't restart.
towed home.

turned over but wouldn't start and no rev-counter bounce.

changed reference sensor.

car started. Reved. Turned off, re started. Excellent.
let idle for 10 minutes , car just died again.

wouldn't restart. , turns over, no rev-counter bounce.

thinking bad connection somewhere, all look good that I can see. Where to look now?

or could it be something else?
thanks K.

Seems one of the first things to check with puzzling starting issues is the DME relay. Swap it with a known good one and see if that clears things up.

Since most of us don't have a known good one lying around pull it, clean all the contacts and ensure that the solder joints inside the unit look good. You can take a small iron and remelt to solder connections to ensure that good contact is being made.

See if this helps.

Another thing to check is the wiring at the reference sensor connector. Loose/corroded wiring could be giving you your symptoms.
