Default Good news and bad news

The good news is that I finally got my engine fired up and running.

The bad news is that my freshly self rebuilt steering rack is leaking through the inspection hole
Is it worth tearing it back apart to see if something isn't seated correctly? Or would it be better for me to bite the bullet and buy a professionally rebuilt rack?
Very disappointed that I just wasted $70...

There should be, though I don't have one. I thought I read somewhere that it shouldn't be leaking from there since it's not pressurized? I'm not entirely certain and welcome any wealth of knowledge.

Also, Happy Thanksgiving for you Americans out there!

the whole system isn't really pressurized very much until you start turning the wheels hard, but flow + gravity would be enough to make it leak, IIRC the whole rack is full of fluid and the power assist pushes the center rack piston one way or another depending which way you turn the wheel (and which valve on the rack gets opened)

i don't recall the thread off hand but an allen (hex) head plug with some thread sealant (not threadlocker) should be sufficient.
