Default 17 inch wheel and tire size

Hi guys I’m new here. Just got hold of 1984 944 Porsche got original 15 wheel. I want to go up size like 17 inch going for staggered look just for fun when’d drive not intend to track or race. Pls advice on tire size front n rear without need for much modifications.
17 inch seems to have much more tire options

thanks ju

I would recommend the 968 size, which is 225/45 and 255/40 .

I think Porsche recommends upgrading the castor blocks to 968 parts when running 17"+ wheels.

Their fitment is more dependant on the offset of the wheel. I would recommend getting wheels in the correct offset for your car (which is somewhere around +23mm). Wheels with a greater offset may require spacers (which may require longer studs) or adapters. I don't recommend adapters.

If you do any performance driving I would also recommend changing the left front spindle to a solid unit. The '84 has a hollow left spindle.

Also you can post on the main 924-44-68 section, much more traffic there. https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...-968-forum-70/
