Default 2.7L Power questions

I could use some advice. I'm putting a 2.7L into a '87 924s to go around corners fast in amateur event's.

I have one now I just took out of the crate with a new stock bottom end and Lindsey rebuilt head, mild web cam, Ti springs. But it's not going to make what I want (I'd be happy with 250+ NA with ITB's) I want to know what is possible and if where I can look for info on building the bottom end with a 3.0 crank. I'd be happy if someone could at least point me to information, ie. posts, books, video...
Thank you,
Steve Hickey

Car is pretty clean with under 70,000. I bought it with 18,000 and the speedo went around 40,000.
I bought the car with 18,000 mi from a little old lady! My 68yr old land lady in fact. Thanks Memaw!

You can get a 968 engine up to around your desired power level but it isn't cheap or easy. You'd need to go with a proven engine builder like Michael Mount to get him to extract every bit of power available. ITBs can get you a few HP but the cost of entry makes it one of the last modifications to do after you've tackled everything else. Good luck!

Have the 8 valve motor I'm interested in building, and when I called out from under the rock where I was hiding for the last 20+ years a 968 almost ran me over so I'm quite aware of 16 valve engines.
