Default Porsche Classic Radio

Some internet cruising brought me to this today:
http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessori...ghlights/navi/

A bit more searching showed it to be between $1200 and $1400, why in the world can't I find a radio that looks like that, without Nav, Mech-less? The garbage brand Boss makes them you can buy for $30 (but they look like they aught to be hung off of an Autobot or Decepticon), Kenwood and others make them that are decent units but still look out of place in my 27 year old car.

I did find a [now discontinued of course] Clarion several years back that I used in my 911 that only had 1 large black **** and when turned off it was just a completely black unit so it faded away.

Has someone found a reasonably priced solution to this that I haven't found?

depends what kind of features you really want...
a pretty basic looking CD/radio, without a screen (maybe like a basic clock/radio station screen?)

if you look at late-model FORD cars they had pretty clean-looking, basic radios that you can get for pennies.

In my perfect scenario I would love this:

https://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KMB...M-BT518HD.html

In something that looks like our original Blaupunkt or even something new but as simple and clean as the new Porsche offering, and not costing much more than that very nice Kenwood. I'm no longer and "audiophile", I had one of those and it did everything I wanted and sounded great to me.

As an alternate route I'd not hate the idea of taking an old Blau and be able to convert it to modern electronics if there was a DIY version of that.

I wandered across that ad last week, kinda got my wheels turning about taking one of them and somehow gutting it to marry the old with the new. A little outside of my skill-set but not so far that I wouldn't try it if I had some direction.

Default Respectable Solution Found

I posed this same question to one of the 944 FB groups yesterday, someone posted this unit and a picture of it in his car, seems exactly what I had in mind.

Seems to be orange or blue, I feel like the orange is close enough not to look totally out of place. The lack of a CD on that one was actually a plus for me (I think I left crates of CD's in the attic of the last house I sold since I'd digitized them years before that so..) but yep, you could get it either way.
