Tie Rod End Threads don't Match...??
Short and simple, here goes:
1985.5 944 N/A w/ Power Steering
Picked up tie rod ends (TREs) that Rock Auto calls for as standard OEM; P/N ES2059R (pick your manufacturer, I purchased Falcon Steering).
Got out the calipers, and sure enough, the tie rod ends' female tapped threads are 1 mm too small for the inner tie rods that are on my car. Thought it might be a one-off part that was bad, but no, both purchased TREs are 1 mm too small for the inner tie rods on the rack. Also verified part number on part matches order page.
Can anyone offer some insight?? I'm leery of ordering any more for fear I don't have an actual Porsche P/S rack (that is instead from God knows what).
