Default Cam chain tensioner Pads - wear

I have a thick stack of almost every maintenance record from day 1 of my 944 S, and every PO has meticulously done everything this car needed when or before it needed it. Car has over 160k miles, drives like new and uses no oil.

But a huge concern of mine was there was no record of the cam chain tensioner pads ever being replaced. Been wanting to pull the cam cover to see their condition, fearing the worst.

Yesterday Rick and I pulled the cover - and I was pleasantly amazed to find the pads with very little wear!

The top pad is 5.3mm thick and shows 0.7mm of wear - or 13%.

Here's my question: Certainly these cannot be original - or can they?

What is typical mileage to be expected from these pads?

I ordered a new set and plan on returning them as I cannot see my car needing new ones for a long time & many miles. $145 a set.

TIA for the feedback,

GN
