Aftermarket part

They are on EBay from time to time.

Also, get a lighted liscense plate for the relocation of the plate.

ummm pm sh944, i am sure we still have the one from our parts car.

adrian_jaye 05-25-2004 06:34 PM

Jfrahm 05-26-2004 02:08 AM

Get a big gold Porsche emblem on a gold chain for around your neck too.

Idoktr 05-27-2004 08:01 AM

I was wondering how difficult these are to install?

adrian_jaye 05-27-2004 05:02 PM

they are easy !

apparently (gulp) !

jyoon 06-02-2004 08:44 PM

i hate those things, i wish the po of my currrent car never installed it. it's gonna cost quite a bit of $$$ to fix. you gotta drill 4 big holes through the rear wall, and you'll have two more holes to drill on your bumper. don't do it, imho.

jyoon 06-02-2004 08:45 PM

and you will have to install a lighted license plate frame or light bolts if you don't want the pd to pull you over.

Granite 944 06-04-2004 12:46 AM

I'll be installing one in each of my cars in my sig, as soon as I can get around to it............I LOVE EM!

Jim 944S 06-04-2004 09:49 PM

Ken... I know it took a lot of courage to admit that on this site...so... here it goes...

I kinda like them too!!!:) The thing that has kept me from putting one on is relocating the darn license plate! It doesn't look good where it is... and it looks even worse anywhere else!

911s look good with them...Hmmm...nah...can't rationalize buying a 911 just for that!:D

Jim 1987 944S:cheers:

adrian_jaye 06-07-2004 06:33 AM

i've always liked them,
"back in the 80's" I did it to a capri, backlit an' all

well kool

Yabo 06-19-2004 11:32 AM

bet you guys wouldnt have mentioned this on the watercooled collaborative board (924/944/968/951 etc..) haha. they are okay i guess.

IceShark 06-19-2004 12:52 PM

Jim, regarding the stock location of the license plate, did you miss the thread on relocating it a bit higher? Looks better but takes a bit of work and many beers figuring out how to position. Here is my shot at it:

If someone can tell me how I paste that picture in I'll do it. It is on Kevin K.'s picture files and I'm not sure how to paste it into a Rennlist post.

924martinirossi 07-03-2004 02:30 AM

I removed them from three cars I owned and gave them away.

Michael
