Ahhh, that's Tony C. Yes, there are plenty of stories to tell about him. I really shouldn't talk about some of them in a public family forum though..........Oh, you are talking about the car?...

Sean,
The "Strosek" type car appeared to be an earlier car that was retrofit with later running lights. I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner, but I looked inside and the interior was a little bit rough and from an earlier car. He did not come on the drives with us, but the engine sounded good.

The strange thing to me was the mounting of the front license plate: it was just mounted on a post that stuck straight out at least 6" from the body. No attempt to blend it in with the lines and curves. The last picture in post #148 really doesn't do it justice.

AFAIK, the owner did not offer to raise the hood, but I'm guessing we would see a spider intake inside.

Again, the body and the paint were very nice.

Sorry to miss you all this year. Checked out some cool machines in Ft Lauderdale however ...

Here's forward view of the fly deck on a 164' Christiansen yacht at the Boat Show. Over 6,000 sq feet of interior space and enough range to go anywhere in the world. They had drone footage of a charter trip in the Greek Isles.

This boat won an award for the best new over-50-meter mega-yacht ... first time by US mfg in a couple of decades.

Just think ... if we buy enough 928 parts, that could be Roger and Zane up there in the tub someday :-)

I spoke with the owner briefly on the blue car. It was an 81 Euro Strosek, which was wrecked, before the current owner acquired it. He started the project intending to get it repaired to the original Strosek design, but then abandoned that idea when he determined the Strosek panel fitment and quality wasn't up to what he wanted. He found a local fiberglass specialist and they created what you see above. Don't remember what they said the original front fender source was, but I believe they may have widened them beyond what the supplier provided. They faired the front fenders into an integral piece with the front bumper cover and also did the same with the rear. The quality of the glass work looked pretty good, but I don't anticipate it surviving long if many miles are put on it, primarily due to creating the 1 piece front and rear ends. You could already see some cracking out of the lower inside corner of the rear hatch opening, and he said the car had about 100 miles since the body work was completed. I presume it is really more of a show piece than a driver though anyway as they installed 2+" spacers on the front wheels to try to get the tires to fill those ginormous front wheel wells. ) can’t imagine that helping handling in any way). He seemed committed to finishing the project and spent some time talking to Rob Bud about the interior while at the park.

I thought it was a very creative modification and spoke with the owner. He said he had a client who was a very experienced fiber glass guy and did the work as a barter deal.

The hood had been extended quite a bit and he needed a front license plate. So he bought one of the holders that screw into the tow bolt hole and the body guy welded the front end of it onto a standard bolt. I hope he has this redone because it does extend too far out now.

I asked how much the wider front and rear wheel setup helped with handling. I was surprised to have him answer that they reduced the handling a bit.

Great paint job with a great color. He did seem interested in having Rob do interior work.

I think he will end up with a unique and very sexy show car, trophies and lots of conversations.

i like it..but...

1) gotta have the head lights. No ifs ands or buts about that one.

2) get rid of the "NACA" nostrils on the hood.

3) GTS mirrors. ...keep it simple

but....that is why its custom!!

How that car would not develop stress cracks between the metal body and the bumpers is beyond me.

I think it looks pretty cool. Would fit right in with some of the other wide bodies we've had around here.

I'm positive I don't need pics for proof.
